THE SPIRIT OF STRIFE It is an honour for a man to cease from - TopicsExpress

THE SPIRIT OF STRIFE It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling (Pro 20:3). I dont believe anything exposes the heart of a person as quickly as strife does. A heart which is full of strife is a heart which is full of garbage and set on fire by hell. Strife, contention and friction have nothing at all to do with other people (you make me mad, you made me do it, you are responsible, etc...). But it has everything to do with the one who incubates this spirit within. A person who is full of strife is a person who is full of themselves. They are consumed with self-rights and self-pity. Often times they possess a manipulative spirit. One of the reasons why they manipulate so much is, they are consumed with the desire to have their own way and will do anything to have it. They will justify their strife, seek to justify harsh attitudes and even defend their rights to get even with those who hurt them. As the people of God this should not be. A person who is full of strife can become a person who is unbearable to be around or co-habitat with. Many divorces have come through this avenue. The way to overcome strife is rather simple. When those who are filled with strife comes to impart their poisons, kindly ignore them and remove yourself from their presence. The only way strife could exist is if we entertain it. The bible makes it clear, only a fool will meddle with (play, take lightly) strife, but a wise person will cease entertaining it when it erupts. Allow the Holy Spirit to remove that which destroys you and offends others. Ask God to break the contentious and striving spirit which has their roots in pride. My dear brothers and sisters let us cease from strife.
