THE URGE TO MAINTAIN THE INTEGRITY OF THE ICC IS WHAT WILL DESTROY EITHER RUTO OR UHURU. The ICC priority is to make sure it defends its image and integrity as a court of last resort and one that stands for justice for all regardless of the position you hold in the society. This Kenyan case has been a big challenge to them and is therefore the one that will make or break how they stand in the face of the rest of the world. My feeling is that one of the Jubilee duo will have to be sacrificed for the court to remain relevant especially in the eyes of the African Dictators who have done so much to try and rubbish it using the Kenyan cases. If Uhuru and Ruto go scot free, then that will be the beginning of rise of impunity again in Africa as the Dictators will now know that so long as they stay and cling to power, they can commit any offence against humanity and nothing will happen to them. This is one of the main reasons among others, that will make Ruto or Uhuru go in for years because the ICC and the Western powers are well aware of this and are out to send a different message . Another thing is that, this is a court that much of its operations are influenced by the Western world and they finance it and even decides which judges are employed by it. My gut instinct tells me that these powers, the western power, will sit down and decide who between the two they can best work with after these cases end. The weakest link will then be the sacrificial lamb. The question is, who will this sacrificial lamb be?.
