THEY TRIED TO SILENCE US! WE ARE PUSHING BACK! When something - TopicsExpress

THEY TRIED TO SILENCE US! WE ARE PUSHING BACK! When something like this happens you cannot keep it quiet...nor should you! I experienced the same type of situation at Cinemark Jess Ranch except the Theater Manager and I had a very courteous composed conversation, which I will go into later. Here are the comments from Bob of Aames, Iowa; Had the same problem in Ames, Iowa, tonight. Unfortunately, the management got into a shouting match with members of the local conservative womens club because their president handed materials out to other members of her group because she couldnt attend their pie and coffee social time that followed. Bob Eschliman I understand that as a business, Cinemark has the right to limit what is said or done on its property, but what happened tonight in Ames was a disgrace. I was handed copies of the emails that came from Cinemark corporate that demonstrate utter hostility toward the film, the theater captain volunteers, and like-minded audience members. On one hand, they acknowledge we were supposed to be able to speak and hand out the data collection forms and other pieces of UnFair swag. On the other, they insist that their corporate policies supersede the agreed-upon role of theater captains. When I (John Wesley Nobles) entered the Jess Ranch Cinemark Theater, in Apple Valley, California I was met by the Theater Manager when I asked what auditorium Unfair would be showing in, of course I was wearing my Unfair Theater Captain Shirt with name badge on, so there was no doubt who I was. I was then told that I would not be allowed to speak with the audience, distribute literature or take any photographs. I explained that we had drawing entry cards for attendees so they could enter a drawing for a Kindle Fire Tablet worth $264. He said we could not do that, so I told him we would distribute free entry cards at the Dennys next to the theater. It is very likely that most of the people attending did not know we had to distribute tickets off the theater property at Dennys. Unfortunately they missed the opportunity to be entered into the drawing...thank you Cinemark Movie Theater Jess Ranch. Only about 23 out of about 150 got to enter because of the stance Cinemarks Corporate Office has taken. Very unfortunate indeed! Dont think I will be a Cinemark Custormer in the future. This whole experience has left a very unpleasant taste in my mouth. P.S. If you think what Cinemark did was wrong share it with all your groups and friends!
