THINKING FOR THE ENJOYMENT OF IT Reading, studying and thinking: their differences. It is when we read a fiction book when the writer usually does the thinking for us. A good author gets us emotionally involved in his/her story. Text books were created to make us learn from them, so we need a good memory to retain important facts. We need to add our imagination in creating our term papers or essays. Please allow me to emphasize on the studying stage in order to get the most of these lessons. Think on page one of any of our lessons. The first reading helps us be aware of its main goal, so our short time memory is needed. In our second reading we need our imagination to retain learning at a comprehension level. Our third reading summarizes the whole page adding something extra coming from our experience on this theme. Thoughts become useful mental tools. Experience with my peers and students have shown us that after the eighth lesson it takes less effort to learn and besides it becomes an enjoyable task. Suddenly, we realize how little of our knowledge has indeed been applied in solving issues. Working as a waiter and headwaiter for twenty years plus having practiced martial arts for thirty years aided my understanding regarding how useful our learning becomes; reading, studying and thinking, as it becomes meaningful learning. Step by step we make fewer mistakes, as the number of “lucky hits” increases, this gives us trust in our mental processes
