TODAYS BODY ART QUESTION Subject: loss of sensation Question: Hi! My name is K and I am a 22 year old female. So ive been searching google for an answer to my question but havent found anything so maybe you can help. About a year ago, maybe just under that I got a tattoo that covers the back of my neck, its about 8inches length wise and 5 inches in width and it covers most of my c-spine starting from c4 or 5. I didnt notice this until a couple months after I got it done but I have a large area over my tattoo that I have no sensation, I cant feel anything but pressure if I touch the area and if I punch or anything I cannot feel any pain. Additionally, sometimes if I move my arm a certain way or turn my head in a certain way I get a sharp pain tgat starts over my tattoo and radiates down my spine. I was wondering if you have ever heard of anything like this happening and if so if I should be concerned or not. I cannot entirely attribute this to the tattoo since I only noticed it a month or so after I got it done but I havent had any other injuries to it and its the only thing I can think of. So not sure if it is more correlation rather than causation. Thanks for reading this and hopefully being able to help me= Answer: K, Nerve damage resulting from a tattoo is extremely rare. It sounds to me, based on what youve told me, that you have something else going on that is not related to the tattoo at all. My advice would be to contact either a Chiropractor or a Physician as soon as possible. I am NOT saying that nerve damage doesnt happen, in some cases, with a tattoo but in order for that to occur the tattoo has to be applied fairly deep or is extremely overworked. Unless either one of these two things describes your tattoo then please, as I suggested, seek out professional advice and help in the medical field. I hope this has been of some help to you. If I can be of any further assistance please let me know. -The GYPSY- ubtat2d #tattoo #tattooing #tattoos #piercing #BodyArt #SkinArt #SkinArtCreations #SkinArtCreationsTattooEmporium #TheGYPSY #SACTE #Topeka #Kansas
