TODAYS DEVOTIONAL: Our Source of Hope Thursday, November 14, 2013 Read | Psalms 39:7 And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee. This world is not growing for the better each passing days, but on the contrary is getting worst and worst. The peoples hearts are turning wickedness to extremely wicked. Then one ought to remember the Lords warning that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of themselves... (2 Tim. 3:1-4) The peoples hearts are waxed gross to listen to the words of God, and the cry of help of those who need help. Destruction, hunger, loss of loved ones, disaster after disaster have caused a lot of people to despair and lost hope. When we focus our source of hope and refuge from our fellow man we will end up disappointed, discouraged, and depressed. The people of central Visayas in the Philippines who have succumb to greatest challenge in their lives brought by the super typhoon are so desperate for the governments aid and help. The ears of some people may go deaf and indifferent, but God hears our all our pleas and longings for help and rescue. Our hope and expectation should only be in the Lord. He is the only one in this world that is stable and sure. Everything else is on shaky ground. Its sometimes hard to have hope while everything around us seems to crumble, or is uncertain. The Lord is our pillar. He is our fortress. He cannot be shaken and can be trusted completely. If youve lost hope in this world, hope in Jesus. He wont let you down. When hope is placed in Jesus Christ, we have more meaning to our lives which we cannot get from this world. Hope and wait patiently in the Lord. (TGB)
