TOPS & TROUSERS MONTH- Her skirt is short...but lord her legs are sturdy His clothes are old...but never are they dirty . I had a discussion yesterday about how artist will use ideas that are already present, & its how they are synthesized, that makes something very original. Well.....some songs SEEM to come almost out of this air. The inventiveness in this song, is just breathtaking. I mean that Fender Rhodes Pulse, that Stevie comes in with ,has a kind of dark Delta blues vibe to it........but on a rhodes, not guitar. The Bridge sections (the Da da da DA da da DA parts) was an idea I have just never heard before. The whole urban skit that appears in the middle, is something that Rap artist use all the time now,but was also something new in 1973. So sure...artist twist & turn, whats already there.....but on rare occasions,something pretty new comes about. My Step Father ,surrealist painter & author Kenn Davis,told me, An artist is someone who makes something out of nothing..... Well for some....its more From nothing than others. ;-)
