TRUKAI GIVES TO TEAM PNG TRUKAI Industries Ltd, Papua New Guinea’s leading supplier of quality rice, continued its support to Team PNG as one of its biggest sponsors with a presentation of K500, 000 to the PNG Olympic Committee today in Port Moresby. The funding will go towards Team PNG’s participation at the Pacific Mini-Games in Wallis & Futuna in September. Male Vice President of the PNG Olympic Committee and Chef de Mission of Team PNG to Wallis & Futuna, Mr Richard Kassman thanked Trukai for their continued support to PNGOC in sending Team PNG to various international sporting events such as this year’s Pacific Mini Games. “Trukai has been a great supporter of the PNG Olympic Committee and Team PNG for a long time and we are always grateful for their assistance,” he said. “These Games are important to us in preparation for the 2015 Pacific Games. And to have such an enormous support from Trukai, helps the PNGOC to send a large contingent off to the games and athletes are motivated to do their best,” Mr Kassman added. A Team of 191 PNG contingent will be going to the Pacific Mini Games under the eight categories of sports offered. The team comprises of 145 athletes and 46 officials. “Trukai strongly believes in giving back to the community through sports and our continued support will help talented athletes to reach their potential at these international meets,” Trukai’s Sales & Marketing General Manager, Andrew Daubney said. Trukai’s support has assisted Team PNG over the last 14 years through the Trukai Fun Run, which has contributed to sending PNG’s elite sports men and women to various international events. The Pacific Mini-Games will be held in Wallis & Futuna from September 2nd to the 12th this year. END. //
