Is he asking the scientific community at whom this lecture was aimed to stop innovation because a book written far back says so? No. He is asking the scientific community to sharpen their scientific temper in the only way he knows. Even if that understanding is regressive, what he is saying is constructive, not destructive. His message says - take my country forward with scientific temper. The secular apologists like Kesavan often try to lump all religious faiths into one bin, like the ones which say dont take polio drops because it goes against my book. If your education does not allow you to make distinctions, it is useless.
