Taking a break between the Georgia game ending and Missouri game - TopicsExpress

Taking a break between the Georgia game ending and Missouri game beginning to post about a team that has always been close to my heart! Last night at Tripps football game in Carrollton, I shouted out loudly and got stared at since nothing had just occurred in our game. I was following baseball on my trusty smartphone. The first was when the Detroit Tigers lost and the second was when my KC Royals won!! That clinched the wildcard berth and its the first time weve been in the playoffs since 1985!! Woohoo! But truth be told...I dont want the wildcard berth. I want us to win the AL Central Division!! A man sitting near me questioned if I was one of those fair-weathered fans and just jumped on the Royals bandwagon. Those are fighting words to me and I spent 15 minutes telling him of my loyalty so he probably regrets his question! My entire family has cheered faithfully for the Royals. When we moved when I was in the 5th grade, we had an intercom system in our house and Daddy always had the Royals on radio pumping throughout the house. My adorable nephew is Brett and he was born just after George Brett batted .390. I met my former husband at a Royals game in 1980 and we married after they lost in the World Series to the Phillies. I was newly pregnant in 1985 during the World Series and was at every game except Game 6. We were working at CNN Sports and did the train ride back and forth from KC to St. Louis. A dream come true: An All Missouri World Series...the I-70 Series! I drank TWO glasses of tomato juice the night we won! Had my first little girl in April and named her Kacy! Decided to mosey through our basement and look for any evidence of being a Royals fan! Wasnt too difficult!! Tripp is a good sport in letting me represent my home state! : o ) Wish us luck tonight and tomorrow!!
