Talking about Mark Salling We’ve always said that we could eat Glee star Mark Salling (Puck) with a spoon... and that he makes us want to melt. So it’s quite the coincidence that Mark has just signed on to star in a movie about ice cream — which, as you may know, is known to melt and can be eaten with a spoon. Funny how things work out. Mark won’t be around for much of Glee Season 5 — except for his appearance in the Cory Monteith (Finn) tribute in Episode 3 — but he’s certainly not hurting for work. The hunky actor-musician is set to star in an upcoming TV movie called Rocky Road, which will debut on the UP network next year. In the film — which begins production this week — Mark will play an investment banker on Wall Street who loses his job and has to move back in with his parents in the ‘burbs. Bummer. While there, he starts working for his dad’s Rocky Road ice cream truck and tries to win back his high school girlfriend. Also appearing in the film will be Hannibal’s Scott Thompson and former SNL star Robin Duke. But Mark won’t just be a pretty face on-screen. In fact, he will also be writing and recording an original song for the film’s soundtrack. Way to go, Mark! As you may recall, Mark put out an album a few years back, so it’s great to see him putting his songwriting and singing skills to use. We’re beyond excited for Mark, since we think he has what it takes to have a successful post-Glee career in TV and film. Okay, so we admit that we had never heard of the UP network before this. But the film’s premise sounds like fun, and we think this could lead to even bigger things for the guy. Or to put it another way: I scream, you scream, we all scream ice cream (Gleek26)
