Scott has led campaigns to protect families from powerline radiation, to protect residents of Heybridge and Stowport from silica contamination, to defend our coasts from inappropriate development and to help the community of Shorewell drop crime by a staggering 85%. He has worked to stimulate grassroots change through active involvement in numerous community groups, including Neighbourhood Watch, his local Community House and school council, and partnerships with church groups, service organisations and government. Scott’s 16-years of youth and community work is backed by university studies in management and economics. “My priorities are to: * Eliminate poverty as a cause of social disadvantage. * Return and increase funds to public education and public health. * Protect our agricultural economy. * Save our rivers and groundwater from threats posed by forestry chemical contamination. * Stop the reckless expansion of plantations that threaten agriculture, water supplies, rural communities and jobs in Tasmania. * Establish a Tarkine World Heritage Area.” In these times - when corporations dominate government - Tasmania needs a solid fighter.
