Tenure Track Painting Job @ Hofstra... Assistant / Associate Professor of Painting and Drawing, Tenure Track Hofstra University seeks a painter for a full-time, tenure-track position t= o head the painting and drawing area of the Fine Arts/Design/Art History De= partment starting fall of 2014. The ideal candidate will possess a demonstr= ated commitment to teaching, scholarship, advising and service. Position re= quires an MFA from an accredited institution, 3 years full time teaching ex= perience beyond graduate teaching at the university level, an active recogn= ized professional career in painting with a strong exhibition record, demon= strated knowledge within subject area, excellent written and verbal communi= cation skills and administrative skills. Rank and salary are competitive wi= th peer institutions, and are commensurate with the artists current profes= sional standing. The candidate must be capable of teaching all levels of painting and drawin= g. As head of the painting and drawing area, the faculty member will direct= adjunct faculty in teaching painting and drawing, work to maintain and imp= rove the painting and drawing program and supervise the maintenance of the = painting and drawing studios. In addition, the faculty member will be respo= nsible for advising painting majors and minors and individually working wit= h undergraduate students at the advanced level. The faculty member is expec= ted to maintain his or her active professional career, to actively particip= ate in departmental and University committees, and to contribute to the cul= tural life of Hofstra University as a whole.
