Thank you Moulshree Shukla for the nomination; my best friend is the one wholl get me a book I havent read. In the worlds of Carl Sagan, books are proof that humans can do magic. Lets the start the list. 10- Watchmen - Alan Moore; Its the best graphic novel written till date. The character development in this book is unparalleled. 9- Brave New World - Aldous Huxley; The one science fiction novel set in the future that is coming to be true at this point of time. The breakdown of society to trivial culture is shown very well in this masterpiece. 8- A Passage to India - EM Forster; A story of the greatest and saddest subtleties, and comic subtleties, too. One of a kind. 7- Animal Farm - George Orwell; It tells the hypocrisies of the Russian Revolution, with the principal figures played by, of all things, farm animals. 6- Lord of the Flies - William Golding; The savage nature of humans is portrayed with the help boys stranded on an island. Gripping story, meticulous writing and marvelous story. 5- The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams; The funniest sci-fi novel ever written. Read the first 2 pages if you dont find anything funny close the book. 4- One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest - Ken Kesey; You havent seen a true villain until youve met nurse Ratched, you thought Umbridge was bad? she looks like an affable school teacher in front of the nurse 3- Kim - Rudyard Kipling; No author can describe the Indian Bazaar like Kipling, this is the best novel by him and even Ruskin Bond agrees with it. 2- Brida - Paulo Coelho; I know its too philosophical but this book explores a new meaning of love not seen in any love stories. 1- Calvin and Hobbes - Bill Waterson; This comic strip is the funniest and thought provoking comic strips i have ever read.and is one of my favorite. This is the list the following people have to read all the books and post their reviews on my wall by the end of the year, and i hereby nominate Rohit, Arun, Shubhang and Palak. I know these books are not generally available in your vicinity so if you guys like i can mail e-books for you. Feel free to pirate 8 out of these 10 authors are dead so copyrights :P
