Thank you all for sharing a part of your day with us! Thank you for finding the time to help us support others. To successfully do the work we do, we rely on the community and events like this. It was very nice two (2) part event. We had Veterans during the day for a private luncheon and our 4th Annual Lets Give Thanks event from 2 to 6. I thank everyone that sold raffles, bought raffles, donated a tangible item and offered a silent prayer in support! The food donations were amazing! We fed a couple of hundred people with both parties and it was through the generous donations of - Vickie Cocozza, Jim Hasso, Christina Edwards, Terri Dyckoff, Grandmas of Yorktown, The Landmark Diner, Antonella Zegarelli, Janet Peck and Stacey Lopez, Cathie Anderson and Cousin Maria. The constant non stop work of our volunteers was priceless. Mahopac & Yorktown High School came out to support us bright and early. Teresa Ettere has chosen My Brother Vinny as her Confirmation service project and she was a wonderful assistant. Sam and Ray Stretz worked the majority of the day outside from 11 to about 5 working the valet. My boyfriend Kenny the Poor Kenny he is known as worked tirelessly running the donations back and forth to storage and on pick up. June Herow and Lou Abramshe were a blessing too helping him! We had amazing entertainers today! The balloon twister Danielle everyone loved her art! Jocko the Clown had the crowd going and this was his best show ever. Gymboree was up twice at our event to entertain the early kids and the later arrivals. Bernadette from UMAC did a great demo too! Lola the Rescued Cat Book debut went well! Look for all of these great presenters and more! Park Lane set up as well with some beautiful jewelry. Darth Vader and the Storm Trooper from Empire City Garrison 501st Legion were a Big Hit! Thank you Bob Desimone, your lovely wife and Eugene Rios for making event! Thank you Theresa for joining us with Miss Peekskill and other young Peekskill beauty Queens. The Volunteer support was out of this world! Our volunteers worked non stop today! I am only now finally getting time to type a note! I have so much I want to say, but must be out working early 8 am to continue to empty my van, help Our Lady in Transition and support another family with furniture! The work does not stop, the commitment is always there. I am exhausted tonight! I thank you all for selling the raffle tickets. I did not get the breathing room I had hoped for financially and must continue to figure things out. We got tons of donations and I ltruly appreciate them all!! Roberr Hollywood from Carmel bought about 15 boxes of items. The hardest part of the work we do is the financial obligation for me to cover it all continually on top of the tremendous amount of work. Like usual, I will regroup, figure things out and count the blessings I have today! Those blessings all showed up and supported My Brother Vinny! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! Thank you Yorktown Elks Lodge for letting us take over your bldg. Thank you Yorktown Patch for coming to cover the story and Thank you Yorktown Lions and Yorktown Fire for allowing us to hang the signs on your bldg and sign board. You want to make a difference in this world! You must wake up, show up and persevere through every obstacle and curve ball thrown your way You must continue to plug through and remember that great works time, dedication and commitment! - pmm Thank you Dena, Antonella, Danielle, Terri, Joe, Stacey and the Gang, Bridget, Vicki and her kids, Mahopac HS, Yorktown, Lakeland Volunteers. Thank you all! Thank you Ed & Carol Lachterman! Save the Date!!! May 17, 2015!! Our Walk! In closing!!!! Please donate to My Brother Vinny! General donations such as yours enable us to fulfill our mission of Helping mankind one good deed at a time. While we incur many tangible items throughout our work that assist us in coordinating our US Veteran moves and other services we provide. Like all charitable organizations we have many operational costs throughout our day to day operations. We require a large level of storage, fuel, rentals, supplies and special event supplies that enable an organization to run properly. We also on many occasions provide supplemental items to help our charitable recipients with day to day living. We make things happen and will do this regardless of donations, but need help and know we are a resource that is counted on by so many! To donate, you can mail a check to My Brother Vinny, P.O. box 644, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598 or send via paypal through our website mybrothervinny.org.
