Thank you for letting me join the Walter Hines Fan Club. I would have joined a long time ago had I known that it existed. I think this is great because Walter should be recognized as one of the best teachers that ever worked for the Lenoir City System. He is right up there with Joe Spence, Polly Stallard, Ms Hammontree, Coach Willie Joe Smalley, Mrs. Towns, Dotty Early and there are a few younger ones that are on their way, now. There should be a Teacher Hall of Fame at our school as well as the Athletic Hall of Fame. I would see all that I have mentioned right there on that wall. I know there are others before and after but these are the ones that I have been most familiar with. I just want to say that I thank Walter for his teaching my children and yes, one of my grandchildren. They love him as an educator that made his class both interesting, fun, and they did not want to miss a day in his class. This is how I would vote for someone in the hall of fame for our teachers. I have teachers, that now that I am 63 years old, that taught me and their teachings are still instilled in my head. It never left me. Their teaching followed me throughout life and helped me obtain excellent employment and gave me the essentials to just get along in this big wide world! With that I say....Mr. Hines, I am so glad to be here and you deserve such a wall right here on Face Book.
