Thank you very much to Karen Forney, the owner of Infinite Ink in Blacksburg. She wrote this Letter to the Editor of the Roanoke Times that was published in the 10/27/13 edition of the Burgs: As a Blacksburg-based small business owner, I support April DeMotts for Blacksburg Town Council and I encourage others to do the same. April is the only challenger vying for the three seats open for election this year and she represents what many have been asking for - she has a decade of business management experience in Blacksburg and the skills necessary to influence responsible business and retail development for our community. April is an expert in housing and possesses the insight needed to solve one of Blacksburgs largest concerns; access to housing for all incomes and age groups. I have had the pleasure of knowing April for the large part of her career in Blacksburg and have partnered with her on multiple projects. Through this professional connection, she has earned my respect as a capable leader and businesswoman. She has a genuine desire to better our community, the energy necessary to get the job done and the personal drive to succeed. April is the best candidate for election to Blacksburgs Town Council and I encourage you to research her positions, familiarize yourself with her professional and volunteer resume and vote for her on Nov. 5.
