Thanks to Digit PlurStation for pointing out the Nite-Ize Spotlit. I thoroughly tested these out and they are answer to the need for light LED handles. No modification required. I thoroughly tested these out and the unit stays firmly in place during normal spinning. I held the poi head and spun the tether as hard as I could for 20-30 seconds and it didnt even budge. Simply push the button to turn on and off. I would recommend a little hot glue to keep it extra secure and the battery life is 20+ hours so it would be reasonable. And removing hot glue from POMs is very easy to do. I used white LEDs but they sell a variety of colors. They even had a color changing DIsc-O version, but I felt they were too distracting for handles. Very light at 28 grams. Cost $6 per unit. Total cost of $22 for the handles (excludes any shipping cost). I can put a video of how I made them if anyone is interested. Super easy to do.
