Thanks to all who have posted to my FB timeline, wishing me a happy birthday; and to those who have not, you still have a few hours to do so. :) Just today I was listening to the audiobook: Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman in which he summarized research findings that suggest when someone reads words associated with old age or sees images of older people, he or she will subsequently walk more slowly when he or she gets up from the chair or if he or she dislikes older people he or she will get up more quickly as if out of spite...and that if people are instructed to walk slowly they will later more easily detect words on a screen that pertain to old age. In other words, the more you think of being old the older you act and the older you act the more you think of yourself as old. I can only imagine the opposite is true, that the more you think of things associated with youth, running, jumping, dancing, etc. the more you are apt to act that way and the more you act that way, the more you will think that way; at least, I am going to operate on that assumption as long as I live, no matter how young i get. :) Again, thanks and I love all my FB friends- young and old alike.
