The American Kidney Fund has stated that “such a drastic cut in services to this vulnerable group of patients is unconscionable,” and the American Nephrology Nurses’ Association says “some patients could lose quality care and access to the treatments they need to survive.” The industry is preparing for dialysis clinic closures in every state. The cuts on dialysis reimbursement are required by the fiscal cliff law, or the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012. Voice your concern — the CMS proposal is only open for public comment until Aug. 30.
