The Bible is clear that Jesus is our Sabbath. The original Sabbath - TopicsExpress

The Bible is clear that Jesus is our Sabbath. The original Sabbath was a shadow pointing to the true Lord of the Sabbath, our rest who is Jesus Christ. Understanding dispensations is very important in order to understand Gods working in our lives. For instance, Adam and Eve had ONE Commandment and that was clearly not any of the 10 Commandments given to Moses for Israel in their particular Age or Dispensation. The Commandment was to believe God. Likewise, Abraham was given ONE Commandment because he had failed to believe God when he listened to his wife Sarah and impregnated Hagar. God had promised him a son with Sarah, and Abraham failed and, like Adam, Abraham listened to his wife instead of God. So, God put Abraham to the test with yet ONE Commandment and that was to take his only son Jacob (Genesis 22:2) out and sacrifice him. This time Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness. (Romans 4:3). That also was a Dispensation for Abraham. When God dealt with Israel in Egypt during the 400 years of captivity, there were no Commandments other than to believe God. When God took Israel out of Egypt into the desert, He began to cleanse them of the things they practiced in Egypt. He then gave them the 10 Commandments at the hands of Moses. That was a Dispensation. But, when we read in the New Testament we learn God was doing a greater thing for the whole world through Abraham: Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. (Galatians 3:6-9) God was using the law to convict them of sin: Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. (Romans 3:20). The law was a schoolmaster by which we all are found guilty and in need of the saving blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. Today, we are under a New Testament written in the blood of God, one by which we are saved by faith and not of works lest any man should boast. Although we are created to do good works, that is not how we are saved. The ONE Commandment given in the New Testament is: And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (Acts 16:31) Now, there is only ONE UNPARDONABLE SIN and that is NOT failure to keep the Torah or Hebrew holy days, nor is it even failure to do good works. No, you will find from the very mouth of Jesus what that is blasphemy of the Holy Ghost (calling the work of the Holy Ghost evil) rejection of the Holy Ghost by which we must be indwelt by Grace through Faith in the finished work of Christ (Born Again of the Holy Ghost). (Matthew 12:31-12:32) (Luke 12:10) (Mark 3:28-3:29) (John 3:3) ... So, in our time, the Age of the Gentiles, the New Testament times which will end with the beginning of the Wrath of God, we are given ONE Commandment, Believe on the Lord Jesus...We also are told this: But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. (Romans 4:5)
