The Fiji Football Association says they will be letting the districts decide on the motions, which will be tabled during the annual congress in Suva tonight. The two major motions, which are to be debated and voted upon is the changes to the statue of election of president, vice president and district officials. The motions state that to contest the post of president of Fiji FA, the candidate, must have served as Fiji FA voice president for at least the last three of the five years prior to the date of the congress. Also, to contest the post of Fiji FA vice president, a person should have served a district association at least the last three of the five years prior to the date of the congress. To be eligible for the post of district president, the candidate shall have served the district association as a vice president or as an executive committee member for at least three out of last 5 years. Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel says they will let the delegates decide. “We just have our own annual congress and everything and there are our annual reports and everything for a year that Fiji FA has done and what can you expect, we have qualify for the world cup for the first time and 76 years history. The district should be pleased that we have moved a step up in a way, and there are certain things and certain motions that has to be pass in line with the OFC statues and we have to do that and that is just part of normal procedures and process that we have to go through. It will be voted in by the delegates, so it’s a democratic voting process, so people have to adhere to what the outcome will be.”
