May 25, 2014 Dauphin Island Alabamas West End Beach Fan Club Dauphin Island kicks off series of sunset jazz concerts this Sunday! Dauphin Islands sunsets are so beautiful it recently trademarked them. How better to celebrate than with a series of sunset concerts starting on this Memorial Day Weekend? The town of Dauphin Island launches a planned series of four concerts on Sunday, May 25. The first installment of the Sunset Jazz Series will feature the Kitt Lough Duo. Lough is a New Orleans-based vocalist whose influences range from Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone to Bonnie Raitt and Patsy Cline. The town recently trademarked its claim to being The sunset capitol of Alabama. According to organizers, three more similar concerts will follow, taking place on the last Sunday in June, July and August. The August concert will coincide with a bigger event, the SeaGrass Music Festival, on Labor Day weekend.
