The French midfielder is hoping to have a more profitable trip to Wembley than he enjoyed with Arsenal, and in concerned defeat against Sunderland might puncture momentum Samir Nasri is nervous that defeat in the Capital One Cup final next week could derail Manchester Citys Premier League campaign, just as it did with Arsenal. The France international reached the League Cup final with the Gunners in February 2011 but suffered a shock defeat to Birmingham, who would be relegated that season. The north Londoners subsequently recorded just two wins from their following 11 league matches, and, having been in second place when they travelled to Wembley, dropped to fourth by the end of the season – 18 points behind eventual winners Manchester United. Nasri was also part of the City side that was surprisingly beaten by Wigan in the FA Cup final last season, and the 26-year-old is keen to finally claim victory and ensure his team do not crumble as Arsenal did. “I don’t have good memories in the cups, because I lost the final with Arsenal as well as last season,” Nasri told reporters. “We got to the final with Arsenal and lost. After that, we won only two games in the league, so a win would be really important for us and for our confidence.” Manuel Pellegrini revealed that Sergio Aguero has returned to training and could feature against Sunderland next weekend, and, while Nasri is delighted that City will be able to call on the Argentine again, praised the clubs other attacking options. “It’s going to be a big boost for the team to have Aguero back, but you cannot disrespect Alvaro Negredo and Edin Dzeko because they did a great job too,” added the Frenchman. “It’s going to be good when another striker comes back, with them and Stevan Jovetic, so then we can rotate and we can build more pressure up-front.”
