The true nature of fur in the 21st century is far from “green.” In study by C E Delft, Holland, 2011, the carbon footprint for fur from raised mink was found to be very large indeed. Fur fails the “green” test on that basis alone. Alan Herscovici, Exec VP of the Fur Council of Canada must stop using this self-serving slogan “fur is green”, which is now being used at a heavy cost to wild animals in captivity, trapped wild fur animals and climate change impact.
