The Golden Child...Itty Bitty Bittle Bit...crate rest...bahumbug!!! He dislikes pictures, this is one of him taking a nap b4 this event. Hes 13 & hasnt had an episode/flare up in so long I cant remember. But, being cautious. He usu crates himself if hes having an issue even before I know abt it--thats usu how I find out! Hes so smart. This event is quite different from those past events. He did not crate himself, does not appear painful but yesterday morn at breakfast was haunched like Ive never seen before -- and Ive had Dachsies all my life, currently have 8! And I work for a vet hospital. Bit has had 2 surgeries...nov 2009 cervical, dec 2010 lumbar. Anyway, at breakfast yesterday morn he was haunched big time but still eating & it was like he lost control of his limbs. Couldnt stand up & stretching his neck but still trying to eat his breakfast. Very strange. Immediately crated him & took him to work with me for a check over. His prev CT scan & MRI show multiple areas of concern, its just a matter of when, according to the specialists. By 730am -- probably b4 but he was crated -- took him out to potty & he urinated by hiking his leg, defecated twice & was walking pretty much like his normal self. Did well all day/night. Started his tramadol & methocarbamal & crate rest yesterday morn -- which hes usu fine with cuz he knows what/when he needs it, but not today. He wants OUT. But, the same thing happened early this morn during breakfast. Didnt happen at dinner last night. He was shivering a bit this morn but was excited for breakfast. Hes now walking/acting absolutely fine/normal. Sigh... Luv my Bit! 🐾❤️🐾
