The ‘Heart’ Locker What is the first thing that comes to my - TopicsExpress

The ‘Heart’ Locker What is the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Delhi? Simple, it’s the place where my heart is. I was born and brought up in Delhi, which makes it fairly obvious for everyone to guess why my heart resides in this city but that is not the case. It often happens that you do not realise the worth of a thing until you are parted from it, that is how I came closer to Delhi. Being caught up in my daily training and travelling within Delhi, I never realised that the city which provides sanctuary to crores of people, including me, is tranquil and serene even after I hear the sounds of cars honking all the time, I never realised that Delhi can be a locker where I can place my heart and not worry about it at all. The realisation period started when I started travelling to other cities for various tournaments and ended up spending a lot of time away from Delhi. Sometimes I spent months away from it. Initially I was very excited to leave Delhi and explore the other parts of India and the World. I am still excited to travel to cities I havent yet visited but as soon as I spend more than a certain period of time away from Delhi, I exceed my threshold point and we all know what happens when an object breaks the threshold point, it starts deviating from the course. My graph in this case moves towards Delhi. Why do I love Delhi ? As I mentioned above, I do not love this city because it is the place where I have been living. Delhi is a place which has unity in diversity. It is a place which exposes us to all kinds of things. Extreme summers and extreme winters, so that we can choose which one to like. People from all religion, all castes and all socio-economic backgrounds, we interact with everyone and get to know about the various things that otherwise would remain obsolete to us. It is a place where if I include the NCR region, one can explore so many different spheres that cannot be explored at any other city. Finally, I can never neglect the fact that Delhi is the place which groomed me, gave me opportunities to rise, harboured a boat named Unmukt Chand, built it into a ship and set it on sail to explore the different waters of the world. Delhi is a place which I can proudly call my heart’s locker.
