The Horror, the Horror! If only he reflected to himself, I make it through this obstacle course and that maze and solve this set of problems , whether involving people, feelings, thoughts, actions, ideas,imperatives places and things, at whatever cost to my own life health and sanity and morality dangling by a thread, and get to the bottom of things I will free them all and myself too to be..to simply be.. Here his thoughts trailed off as he swam through half frozen corridors never before accessible to man. The mental pain no doctor in the land could explain with any analysis or test or device and which he could not articulate made it all extremely tiring and dulled his once super keen awareness of things in their separate and connected senses. Almost ready to pass out he sat down and breathed heavily in a corner. for ten minutes before proceeding along uncharted or unchartable pathways..to... His thoughts always returned to the hidden tyrannies and authoritarianisms and totalitarianisms and bureaucracies and insenstiivies and games social and otherwise. and reversals and manipulations and rigged outcomes everywhere he went , things that most did not seem to notice or to mind, though few were going to be honest in such areas of discourse. Who could afford that luxury on any budget almost conceivable? Things would have been better, he thought or they should have been better or they can be better or they must be better And what were the obstacles? He could list to himself or parrot or spew at this point a thousand different explanations regarding hundreds of different issues, all so complicated they got out of hand like a huge circus tent canvas which laid on the ground would constantly warp out of shape.Ah who cares? But the borrowed decades old literary phrase for such tyrannies Big Brother kept coming to mind every few minutes. The enemy, the obstacle the goal, the way, the old and obsolete and dated and obscure and surrepticious , the solution.the one with ultimate power of evil unless or to be replaced by...or changed by. or even maintained with some reforms by.But who was that?? No records. No information.A shell game. Almost utterly exhausted he climbed and climbed the stairs nobody else could see..half out of his mind , dizzy, but not caving in to the sense of the whole room or world spinning out of control and then found himself by a medium sized pleasant looking door, opened it and walked to the most pleasant and comfortable and friendly looking large but not intimidating chair he had ever seen, which was near the center of the room, covered by a colorful throw rug, and turned towards a large carved wood desk and cabinet which too appeared out of nowhere. Paintings on the walls of a wide range.. Classy .Mozart playing in the backgroundl. Very friendly window.Fridge and kitcheonette. Media center Grandfather clock. A black safe. Then the chair itself said to himPlease sit down sir and do not worry any more Who am I to you the man asked the chair and who are you to me? The chair said in a friendly tone I am the chair you always wanted but for some reason never once envisioned concretely...not for ten seconds in a lifetime. Sacrificed your own comforts always to the cause of the welfare of everybody else There was a pause. The man said I regret cutting those design classes. a few decades back. They seemed simple but brought up too much stuff for me to handle Naturally responded the chair. And who am I to you? You are one who had been called . Big Brother by any other name the one I was told to wait for I..I.. I?! Please site down You are safe now sir Safe...... to do what? Whatever you want whenever you want in whatever manner you want for as long as you want to? Sounds like an offer simply not to be refused said the man to the chair abetted by some built in human wisdom and or intelligence or a great simulation of such.
