The July 4 events will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the annual July 4 Service, hosted by Home Church. The service, celebrated by Moravians since 1783 and open to the public, will be on the south side of Salem Square, near the water pump. The band prelude starts at 8:00 a.m. Band should arrive by 7:45 a.m. Because of the special events planned by Old Salem Museums & Gardens on Thursday, July 4, some of the streets close to Salem Square will be temporarily closed for safety. Two off-duty police officers will be on hand to help direct traffic that morning.
