The Lamb of God Tuesday, March 04, 2014 Why we can stand before God and say, “Thank You that I can call You my Father.” ********** John 1:9-29 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 9 There was the true Light [a]which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His [b]own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 13 who were [c]born, not of [d]blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. The Word Made Flesh 14 And the Word became flesh, and [e]dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of [f]the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 John *testified about Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me [g]has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.’” 16 For of His fullness [h]we have all received, and [i]grace upon grace. 17 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth [j]were realized through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him. The Testimony of John 19 This is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent to him priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?” 20 And he confessed and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not [k]the Christ.” 21 They asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” And he *said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.” 22 Then they said to him, “Who are you, so that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?” 23 He said, “I am a voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.” 24 Now they had been sent from the Pharisees. 25 They asked him, and said to him, “Why then are you baptizing, if you are not the [l]Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?” 26 John answered them saying, “I baptize [m]in water, but among you stands One whom you do not know. 27 It is He who comes after me, the thong of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.” 28 These things took place in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing. 29 The next day he *saw Jesus coming to him and *said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! ************ Leviticus 17:11 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 11 For the [a]life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the [b]life that makes atonement.’ intouch.org/magazine/content.aspx?topic=The_Lamb_of_God_devotional#.UxVo8fldXTo
