The Mid-Atlantic Karate Championships is coming up on Saturday, - TopicsExpress

The Mid-Atlantic Karate Championships is coming up on Saturday, May 3rd and is sanctioned by USA Karate (member of the US Olympic Committee). It takes a great amount of volunteers to run a SUCCESSFUL event of this magnitude. We are having two Volunteer Training classes for those interested in helping. The first is being held tonight at 6:30pm at Virginia Martial Arts Center. The second will be held next Wednesday, April 30th at 6:00pm at the Brian Hobson Karate Studio. Anyone age 14 and up can volunteer to help with scorekeeping, timekeeping, expediting, security, trophy runners, etc. This class will teach the fundamentals of the rules of sparring and kata, along with how to chart and keep score. All volunteers will receive FREE admission to the tournament, FREE lunch and get the best seat in the house right at the ring. Trained volunteers will have a much better understanding of all the rules for the kumite and kata that their child will participate in at all USA Karate tournaments. Volunteers are also needed on Friday, May 2nd for set-up and Saturday, May 3rd for clean-up. Dont miss this chance to learn more about your Dojo and your Karate. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
