The Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care wants Queen’s Park to require a licence for anyone who runs a home-based child-care business. The measure should be part of a larger provincial strategy to ensure Ontario has enough licensed, high-quality, affordable daycare for every family that needs it, the coalition says. Currently, just 20 per cent of children under age 12 in the province have access to licensed spots.
