The Present Continuous 1. for the action going on at the time of speaking: He is dancing. 2. For a temporary action which may not be actually happening at the time of speaking: I am reading Tagore. (But I am not reading now) 3. For an action that already been arranged to take place in the near future: I am going to cinema to night. 4. It has been pointed out before that the present simple is used for a habitual action. However when the reference is to a particularly obstinate habit sth which persist. 5. In spite of advice or warning: we use the present continuous with adverbs like: always, continually, constantly.
