The Roger Utz Bread of Life Food Ministry is currently looking for a new Coordinator to vision the ministry into the future. Over the past five years this ministry has grown to be an exemplary mission of stewardship within our Catholic Community. We have been serving the needy in the Denton Area, aiding other venues that provide necessities to those less fortunate, and growing within the Christian community by leaps and bounds. The ministry has brought families together from St. Mark and ICC to donate their time to service, teaching our children that we all must give back in some way to thank the Lord for all He has given us. We are Blessed! PLEASE CONSIDER THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE! The ministry is well organized and just needs oversight. The Coordinators responsibilities are mostly managerial, not time-consuming, and can all be handled from home as schedules permit. All of our volunteers are grouped in daily teams and any training is done by those currently serving. Teams pick up bread and pastries from local grocery stores and disperse that food to various venues in Denton for distribution to those in need. This happens every day of the week with each member of the team running a route once a month or less. Team scheduling is all handled by individual team leads already in place. The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all teams are filled with enough ministers to accomplish the task. This will usually only happen during the Stewardship Drive and if Team Members leave Bread of Life. The Coordinator communicates with the ministers, usually via Email, about the following: -new members for specific teams - holiday closures for our routes - changes in procedures, if any (very minimal) - updates as needed to keep the ministry running smoothly Other duties include: - ensuring that our storage area is maintained & cleaned (we have a cleaning team) - coordinating new opportunities for grocery pickups, if needed - communicating with St. Mark bulletin for our Bread for Friends program as to what the donation item will be (this could be handled by another minister) - acting as a point of contact for the grocery stores that donate and the venues we serve - ensuring that informational procedures are current on our google docs Please contact Sydney Tarvin at [email protected] if you have any questions or are interested in this opportunity!
