The Rural Fire Service advises that the Minnimbah fire is at Watch and Act status this morning: The fire has burnt approximately 9000 hectares. Conditions have eased, with firefighters working through the night to consolidate containment lines around the fire. Around 100 firefighters are continuing to work on the fire. While conditions have eased, people who have left the Carabost area should avoid the area as conditions could change. Firefighters have been backburning where conditions are suitable, including along Branch Creek Road. These operations will continue and people in the area can expect to see an increase in fire and smoke activity. A number of buildings have been destroyed in this fire. Crews have confirmed that three homes have been destroyed. Specialist NSW RFS Building Impact Assessment teams will be in the area today to assess other losses in the area. Local road closures remain in place. rfs.nsw.gov.au/dsp_more_info.cfm?CON_ID=22001&CAT_ID=684
