The Single Marine Program at Cherry Point had Marine and Sailor volunteers go twice a week to a local assisted living homes and retirement communities. On Monday, 29 September, 6 Marines and Sailors visited Veterans at the Carteret House. These volunteers focused spending time with Veterans, listening to their stories and day-to-day activities, and offering sincere thanks for their Service. I am told the majority of these Veterans do not have any other visitors, and our Marines and Sailors enjoy these long-term friendships. This just warms my HEART!
