The South-South Zonal Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday criticised the breach of law and order in Rivers. This is contained in a communiqué read by its Chairman, Steve Oru, after a meeting held in Asaba. The communiqué signed by the 10 Zonal executives of the party, urged the feuding factions in Rivers to put the interest of the state above other considerations. It said that efforts were geared toward the peaceful resolution of the crises in Rivers State House of Assembly, as the committee would soon embark on consultation with stakeholders. It said the committee would visit President Goodluck Jonathan; PDP National Chairman, Bamanga Tukur; PDP Board of Trustees Chairman, Tony Anenih; Governor Godswill Akpabio, Edwin Clark among others. It added that the committee passed a vote of confidence in President Goodluck Jonathan for his transformation agenda, economic stabilisation, enhanced security and the fight against terrorism. It also commiserated with the First Lady, Patience Jonathan, on the death of her foster mother. The committee lauded the developmental stride of Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta in education, Asaba International Airport project, micro-credit scheme, youth empowerment, roads construction, among others. It, however, advised all PDP members to remain resolute to party tenets, be disciplined, loyal and supportive of the party’s ideals. Signatories to the communiqué are Joe Ediowele, the Secretary; Festus Ochonogor, the Organising Secretary; and Val Areyenka, Legal Adviser. Others are: Elizabeth Essien, Women Leader; Theresa Ezama, Treasurer; Imo-Owo Okpokpor, Publicity Secretary; and others. (NAN)
