The “Sporting Snippets Hall of Fame” This week we pick up - TopicsExpress

The “Sporting Snippets Hall of Fame” This week we pick up again the “Sporting Snippets Hall of Fame” Feature, and it is with great pleasure that we name our 51st nominee as Brian McNally from Portaferry GAC. Brian, who has just completed his term as Chairman at the Ballyfounder Road Club, joined the ranks away back in 1968 and has been a stalwart down through the decades since. His inspirational leadership, his influential management and his productive guidance have helped move the Club forward, and during his time at the helm the rate of progress and the depth of development has indeed been very marked. During his playing days he picked up a Championship medal in 1971 and his efforts and governance over the more recent years have moved the Club forward to fresh achievements and progress both on and off the pitch. At the end of his term of office at the start of December the Club Committee stressed the value of the immense contribution which Brian has made and no doubt his wisdom, work-rate and dedication will continue to provide the Portaferry Club with the thrust to advance the vast programme of improvements which have been such a strong feature under his leadership. In spite of the many commitments to the Club which he has handled with such vision and energy over the years, Brian has also provided guidance and direction for another organisation, having undertaken the role of Vice Chairman of the Northern Ireland Ploughing Association. Brian’s intense work and inspiring leadership for Portaferry GAC make him a very worthy addition to the ranks of the “Sporting Snippets Hall of Fame.”
