The Tiverton High School Field Hockey team came out to play today. They kept their fans on the edge of their seats as they played aggressive and as a TEAM. The Lady Tigers were conscientious of their own ball control and made their passes count. In the first half, Julia Vasconcelos cleverly assisted Ireland McGreavy putting Tiverton on the scoreboard 1-0. But would Tiverton continue to show some heart? However, Pilgrim was not going to just sit back and watch. Soon, Pilgrim challenged our Tiger defense and evened out the score 1-1. The Lady Tigers attempted to score again with the fight that they still had in them, but their next goal was denied by the referees. Pilgrim soon stole the Tigers momentum and crushed another ball into the goal. End score 2-0 Pilgrim. I cant even express how happy I was to witness the teamwork. I look forward to seeing the teamwork continue next week. Soon after, the JV Tigers led their way onto the field, but would they work as a team? These girls were stopping the ball well and are starting to spread out more taking advantage of the whole field. But unfortunately, they could not get the ball in the net. The Lady JV Tigers also were defeated by Pilgrim 1-0. Keep your heads high girls. If you continue to work as a team, there are great things in store.
