The U.S. Conference of Mayors passed an HIV anti-criminalization - TopicsExpress

The U.S. Conference of Mayors passed an HIV anti-criminalization resolution calling for the elimination of HIV-specific criminal laws on June 25, 2013. The resolution endorses the recommendations of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA) for ending federal and state HIV-specific criminal laws, prosecutions, and civil commitments, and supports legislation, such as the REPEAL HIV Discrimination Act, that advances these goals. This is an important marker, and tool for local advocates working with the Positive Justice Project in the movement to modernize HIV criminal laws in states across the country.
