The U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee released a report today (linked below) on the Clean Air Act and cooperative federalism. Among the issues discussed is sue and settle, a tactic the #EPA uses to settle lawsuits with environmental groups. Sue and settle appears to be a blatant strategy by the EPA to create environmental regulations that have failed in Congress. When the EPA uses sue and settle, the states and consumers are left out of the process. Thats why #Oklahoma is leading a coalition of 11 states in a lawsuit to force the EPA to hand over documents related to sue and settle. If the EPA is making backdoor deals with environmental groups to push their agenda on the American people while bypassing the states and Congress, we need to know.
