The Well Spirituality Center presents.. The Gospel of Storytelling October 1, 2014 7:00 – 8:30 pm Cost: $20 This power point presentation will explore the power of storytelling as a form of pastoral care, catechesis and preaching. Drawing upon contemporary theories of narrative and the social sciences, the presentation will also consider how storytelling is a fundamental religious medium, and a central characteristic of the Jesus of the Gospels. Reflection upon the nature of parables will lead us to consider the disruptive and redemptive promise of this cross-cultural human phenomenon. Edward Foley is a Capuchin Priest, a Duns Scotus Professor of Spirituality and Professor of Liturgy and Music at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. He is a member of the Province of St. Joseph of the Capuchin Order. He earned a Masters of Divinity from St. Francis School of Pastoral Ministry, a Masters of Music from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a Masters of Arts in liturgical research, and the Ph.D. in theology from the University of Notre Dame.
