The World of Palestine. 10th September 2014. What happened to your borders, your shoreline’s now so small Palestine, once so big, seems there’s nothing left at all Black dots upon a landmass is all that you have left A country once so great in size is looking so bereft. With funds from the US and UK , Israel took its fight And cared not for legalities and shunned all human rights And while they carried out their “war”, the world just turned away Even when they bombed your beaches, where the youngsters laughed and played. Then they bombed your buildings breaking all the rules And when these families took shelter with their youngsters in their schools Their bombs were aimed right you and they were blown to Hell But then they turned to hospitals and blew them up as well. And still the world laughed at you as Israelis took their chairs And from the hills they cheered their lads, whose bombs filled Gaza’s air Bombs adorned by children yet the world ignored you still Their kids, looked on your kids, as the enemy to kill They painted deadly missiles, then as kids do, laughed along And sung the songs, no kids should know, where did it all go wrong? Mutilated bodies lay as blood flows into tears Brains spill onto loving arms of those they loved so dear As reports came in from BBC and the media worldwide Israelis killed, Palestinians dead, they will not say genocide. No military to speak of it’s a slaughter we have here And Hamas is their only force, no-one else comes near. This world decides a nation’s fate by the silence it demands As another needless bomb arrives to destroy its neighbour’s lands We’re controlled by the controllers but who’s controlling them As the petals of this ancient land fall from its withered stem. The atrocities of one nation towards a nation they abhor It seems like genocide to me but our Governments call it war! They commission these atrocities as they pray to gods of love I hope their gods are rightly proud as they drop bombs from above. I’m no politician and don’t know the ins and outs But the media’s constant bias, leaves me in constant doubt Whilst millions march in protest, the bias carries on But one day soon, Palestine, you’ll find your brand new dawn.
