The cold weather is on its way...ok, its here. The cool daytime temps and the colder nights are upon us. Before the snow flies, I am trying to get some shelters together for the homeless, feral and/or stuck outside for the night cats in the neighbourhood. There are many effective, inexpensive ways to create warm, dry shelter to save our feline neighbours from freezing. This particular project of mine is made from old trim that was taken out of a neighbours house and kindly donated to me. The nails were purchased at the Heritage Shop. My friend purchased something large, packaged in an enormous amount of bubble wrap. I will be applying this to the inside for insulation. The bed is a cardboard box wrapped in a recycling bag. The foam is from an old mattress topper. I have some heated bowls but I plan to make an insulated water dish. I will include photos when I accomplish this. I hope that at least some of you are able to take some joy from the kitten photos and possibly some assistance from anything I post in an attempt to be helpful. As I learn, I hope to share.
