The day after Typhoon Hagupit/ Ruby, my wife and I traveled to two of MARCHs adopted villages--Tinubdan in Daanbantayan & Dapdap in San Remigio. There was not much property damage except for their crops & banana trees. Nothing like Yolanda a year ago. Power was cut but generally for a day except in Tinubdan where some poles had toppled and power is expected to be out for 4 days. When there is no power there is no water. They had been staying for 3 days in evacuation centers so our deliveries and the food stocks we had stored earlier in preparation for Ruby filled them during the 3 days and will fill them as their lives and income go back to normal. Today, we delivered several sacks of rice, 300 cans of sardines, 27 boxes of Manna Rice Packs, gallons of water, a genset & fuel for Tinubdan. Tomorrow I replenish our cargo in Bogo with more rice and canned goods in time for the resumption of ferry service to Bantayan Island. As Tess and I rode off, a beautiful sunset greeted us to tell us that God reigns in majesty. His works are majestic and wonderful, and I am reminded that We are Gods handiwork in Christ; so let our light shine brightly as the stars giving glory to our heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus.
