The first time native Nashvillians ever go to those Honkey Tonks down on Broadway is to meet up with a tourist friend from out of town who is trying to get that Nashville experience that no Nashvillians ever have. Id be willing to bet youd have a hard time finding a legit southern accent spoken by anyone down on lower Broad. And, though Ive mentioned this before, it bears repeating -- people in Nashville do not wear cowboy hats. We live in Tennessee, not Texas or California where there are cowboys. Tourists who visit Nashville for some crazy reason always come equipped with a cowboy hat, which is the official helmet of the confused Music City tourist.
