The first – and only – line of my parody of Stephen Kings short story The Night Flier as written in the style of H. P. Lovecraft: From my earliest times as a normal boy growing up in the quaint New England countryside to my austere college years at University of New England at Providence, Id always heard – or so I imagined – faint-yet-persistent whispers of nameless and strange (yet bizarre) things among the more ogrish and swarthy beings that most-often frequented various dimly-lit haunts and shacks on the outskirts of our noble townships, but had always dismissed these same mutterings as mere superstition borne out of some half-remembered form of antediluvian pagan bullshit.
