The kids will be starting school this month. Im believing with all my heart that Elias with be healthy enough to complete a full year of school. This is something weve attempted every year since 2011 and to achieve this would be a major accomplishment. Elias is not completely healthy nor pain free, but he has come an extremely long way and we are so proud of his fight, perseverance, and humor throughout this treacherous journey. Pediatric cancer is ruthless and our family has definitely felt the effects. I think sometimes our smiles are mistaken for a symbol that everything is perfect or back to what it was before cancer. Unfortunately its not and sadly it doesnt work that way. I know most people cant wrap their heads around the hardship that comes along with having a child with cancer, or the aftermath of harsh treatments, the psychological and emotional wreckage that is all part of the package, or the financial devastation. Im happy that most people cant understand it; I wouldnt wish it on my worse enemy. Our family is forever grateful for those who have tried to put themselves in our position, those who have shown us love and have been supportive in their own special & unique ways, and of course all our Oncology family. What the heck would we do without our incredible oncology family?! The last month and a half have been Eliass best and therefore our best. We will now began to pick up the pieces, rebuild, and recover from our three year storm... Please lift our family in your prayers as we embark on this new territory, find our new normal, and as I step out in faith and seek full time employment. I havent worked full time since April 29th, 2011 and I have anxiety of Elias getting sick again. Please PFE and please pray and show love for all our little friends. Kids and their families cant fight alone. 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛
