The ladies and I have been discussing prayer and how God never answers the way we think He should but still always answers on time. They saw just how wonderfully amazing His answers are this week. I challenged them to be specific but to not pigeon-hole God to respond the way they thought but to remain open to any way He chose to respond. I also challenged them to remember that just because He could doesnt always mean He will; and should He say no, it is because something better awaits them. Not only did He answer needs such as coats, scarves, etc. But for items such as toiletries, fresh (like right off the vine) fruits, veggies, meat, laundry detergent with fabric softeners, comfort foods, and one very big item, heat! Our local news aired a segment on them yesterday (the building is a historic 100 year old building and has two main heating units plus a wood fire furnace) The main level heat went out and with the subzero temps, it was very uncomfortable and down right nasty. They bundled up as best they could and continued to trust God. Today, our angel arrived and not only do we have heat, but the unit (which we were previously told could not be repaired) was repaired and we are told it will last a very very long time. From favorable court appearances, families being restored, home made cakes, mysterious deliveries of fresh foods, to the repair of an old furnace, this has been an amazing first week!!!!
