The last 24 hours have been bumpy for us. Poor Elayna is still fighting an infection- her temperature spiked to 103.3 overnight, which really concerned the doctors. Luckily, before they could get too worked up, her temp came way back down. It has been inconsistent since (but all low grade again). Although they dont know the source of the infection, her antibiotics appear to be helping it. She is dealing with a lot of stomach cramping, which is making it hard for her to be willing to get out of bed, but she has been awake for longer stretches so its nice to hang out with her. Tonight we took her to the piano in a wagon and she played from there. She is hanging in there and being tough as usual, but we long to go home- away from the constant prodding and poking and tubes and machines. Fingers crossed that tomorrow is the day her bowels work and we can start thinking about giving her liquid diet again.
